On Wednesday, 05 February 2025, an important event will take place at the Chapel Street Clinic in Woodstock, Cape Town. This initiative, organised by community organisations, aims to promote the integration of healthcare and social services at local level to increase coverage of people from marginalised populations. The Department of Health, SANPUD, TBHIVCare, and others are coming together to make this a reality. Event Details
The Importance of the Event Access to comprehensive healthcare is vital for everyone, especially marginalised groups. A widening funding gap and restrictive policies exacerbate these challenges. Nongovernmental and community-led organisations play a key role in providing services to neglected populations. They face legal and regulatory hurdles, with solidarity between and within countries is fraying, civic spaces are shrinking. These barriers threaten universal healthcare access and basic human rights. Objectives of the Activity
